Dunaskin wins at Hexham

After recovery from a nasty cut to his leg, it was Dunaskin who embarked on the long journey to Hexham on 8 May 2010 to give our Club members winner number 8 since January 2010 under Kyle James.  Dunaskin is 10 years old now, but still shows his love for racing although in much slower paced races these days.

New Website Launched

It gives me great pleasure to introduce and unveil our New Website.

We felt a change was in order as the old website was built very quickly but lacked the options to update things by ourselves.   The only way was for a professional to do it all, which meant working around a longer time frame and more cost.

Now we have a new website, we hope to keep the content flowing much more regularly, therefore please keep checking to see what’s happening at Koo’s Racing Club.

Kingsdale’s £20,000 Scottish Raid

After only one hurdling attempt it’s been decided to pencil Kingsdale Orion into the £20,000 Musselburgh Gold Cup held on Sunday 4th April 2010.

The 1m6f contest will be Kingsdale’s first try at the distance, but the team here are more than hopeful of his ability to stay and by resting him after his last run we hope to get him there in great condition.

Shares in Kingsdale Orion are still available to buy and with this big prize little over a month away it seems the perfect time to buy into a horse with proven ability that can run for good prize money.

Keisha Kayleigh Retired

It saddens me to have to report that Keisha Kayleigh has had to be retired on Vets advice.

The winner of 7 of her 46 races it’s fair to say she did all her owners proud over the years and what’s more disappointing is that she was just embarking on what looked a promising hurdles career when injury intervened.

Although the seriousness of her injuries means she can’t race again, she is perfectly ok in herself and has already been found a good home locally and will be well looked after and possibly find a new career outside of racing.

We wish her and her new owner all the best of luck for the future.

Ready for the Turf Season

Having had a great start to 2010 on the AW, a combination of cold weather and poor prize money has led me to give a few of our horses break before the flat season gets under way at Doncaster for their Lincoln meeting.   This break will help to freshen them up and get them ready for racing again.   However horses like My Mate Mal and Dunaskin will continue to play their trade on the artificial surfaces as they seem very at home on them.

All last season’s two year olds have done well over the winter and are ready to go in 2010.  For anybody interested in any of our horses why not contact us and come down for our first stable visit in March so you can see the horses before they start their 2010 campaigns and see who takes your eye.

Retirement Policy

In Koo’s Racing Club we believe that all horses should be looked after to very high standard, not only whilst they are racing under our name and colours but also after their racing days are finished.   We always ensure that our horses are always found good homes and don’t end up on the scrap heap where who knows what can happen to them.

Since we started last year we have had 3 horses that unfortunately needed to be retired.  They were Bailieborough, Mr Smithson and lately Keisha Kayleigh.

All these horses were quickly found good homes from people we know and they can now start their new careers in other fields such as show jumping, dressage or sports like polo.

Reports on how our retired horses are doing will appear here from time to time

Koo’s Information service for members only

Whenever a Koo’s Racing Club’s horse runs all members in the Club will receive a text message telling them about who’s running that day and what chance they have got.

I’d like to express that this is not a tipping line, it is merely meant as a reminder so you can follow the success of all horses in the Club as well as your own.

My summing up of the horses is just genuine friendly advice on how I think they horses will run and although some may follow the advice please be aware this is just my opinion.   For any new members please note that I don’t try to intend to make a profit from these tips nor am I interested into selling any information to 3rd parties as this information is a perk to the members of Koo’s Racing Club.
