Saturday 28th August 2010 was great especially after Dream Win won the John Smith's Redcar Straight-Mile Championship Qualifier race at Redcar with Barry McHugh on board. His win was rather unexpected for us knowing he suffered a nasty cut to his leg in his previous race at Sandown and therefore was off training for over 2 weeks. Never the less we are delighted how this 4-yo colt has improved since we bought him 9 months ago and already gave us 3 winning performances.
Global's hurdling debut Global made his hurdling debut on 18 August 2010 at Worcester. Sadly for us the pace was far too slow than we would prefer, but to our delight he jumped well and managed to finish in creditable 3rd place. Lets hope he enjoyed this experience and will keep improving further.
Although he was not very fancied Brian Ellison's trained Film Festival thoroughly enjoyed himself at Carlisle on 25 July 2010 when amateur lady rider Miss Nika Vorster decided to implement tactics 'catch me if you can' in this valuable race. It paid off and to our surprise Film Festival easily won under Nika's hands and heels ride. Well done and keep up the good work.
Film Festival success at Catterick 7-yo gelding Film Festival finally won for his members at Catterick on Wednesday 30 June with Dale Swift in saddle making it winner number 11 for Koo's Racing Club so far in 2010. We haven't seen much of Film Festival last year when he suffered tendon injury and had to have a long break before coming back in 2010.
Dream Win strikes again After finishing second last time, the stable favourite Dream Win finally managed to win his first race on all-weather after beating Star Addition by 3 1/2 lengths at Wolverhampton.
After several disappointing efforts both on grass and on all-weather, our 3-yo filly Wanchai Whisper found her form again and managed to easily beat Leyef by 1 1/4 length on her first visit at Windsor races. She is also Koo's Racing Club's first winner (and hopefully not last) for our southern based trainer Peter Hedger.
Neptune Equester wins over fences Neptune Equester only joined Koo's Racing Club on 1st June 2010 and we didn't have to wait too long for a good result. On 3rd June 2010 'Neptune' gave our members the opportunity to go to winners enclosure at Wetherby races as winning owners when he bravely out-battled The Ferbane Man in 3m 1f novice chase by 1 length. Doncaster sales Our horses were not as popular at Doncaster sales on 19 May 2010 as we were hoping for. Never-the-less all 5 horses we entered were sold and we are hoping that they do well for their new owners and trainers. And Kristian also managed to buy a 8yo hurdler called Palomar. The big white faced Dream Win gave us first winner on turf 2010 flat season when winning at Redcar on 10 May 2010. It was even more special because all members involved in him (apart of one) were present. :)
