Hope you are all enjoying Cheltenham Festival, but I would like to let you know that we have 2 new horses in Koo's Racing Club.
The first one is a 4yo bay filly called Certral and she is available on lease only basis simply because we are planning to put her in foal either this year or next year. She had a long winter break and is back in training getting ready for the flat season to start again.
And second horse is 5yo bay gelding called Best Trip. He has joined us from Richard Guest's yard and was previously owned by the football manager Phil Brown. We are hoping that Brian Ellison can sweeten this horse up and get him back to his best form.
Anyone interested in the above 2 horses or any other we own please get in touch.
Would you believe it! After all the minor issues with a corn in his foot and missing run in Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham, our Lifetime has now managed to win 2 races in a row.
The first one was on Grand National day at Newcastle and the second one was at Goodwood on 5th May. The latter one was a very competitive race, although with just 7 runners. And it also meant that Lifetime went into this race carrying just 8st!!! But Darren Eagen had no problem with the low weight and after not such an easy race he has managed to get Lifetime from last to first. Sadly the jockey received a 4day ban for use of the whip too much.
Well done to everyone involved!
Shares in Lifetime are still available so anyone interested please do not hesitate and get in touch!
Dontpaytheferryman on Tuesday becomes Koo's Racing Club first ever runner over fences, when he runs at Sedgefield.
His jockey Keith Mercer has been down to Brian's stales to ride him and popped him over a few fences where they described his jumping as very brave, low and quick.
We know this doesnt always show on the track though, so we will be just delighted if he jumps round and comes home safe.
It is quite a sad announcement but we have parted company with our 5yo mare Ananda Kanda. One of her old leg injuries reoccured which will keep her from racing for good 3-4 months so we have decided to take her out of Koo's Racing Club and give her to Brian (who originally owned her). He is thinking about the possibility of putting her in foal , but this is just an idea and she has not been booked to go to any stallion yet.
Dontpaytheferryman is absolutely unbelievable when you take him to Musselburgh racecourse. I dont know if its the Scottish air or if its the racecourse itself, but our Ferryman just loves it there and transforms himself into a fighting machine. Paired up with our conditional jockey Kyle James and however hard it is to believe the couple now won 3 races in 2012 and been placed once.
Well done to everyone, and I think all the stable staff who look after Ferryman and also the trainer deserve the credit for his fantastic improvement.
