Film Festival surprised us all by easily winning a £15,000 Stobart Ladies Northern Derby Bowl Handicap (for lady amateur riders) at Carlisle on 25 July 2010 at 14/1 under a great hands and heels ride from Nika Vorster. Well done Nika and well done Film Festival.

Dontpaytheferryman on Tuesday becomes Koo's Racing Club first ever runner over fences, when he runs at Sedgefield.

His jockey Keith Mercer has been down to Brian's stales to ride him and popped him over a few fences where they described his jumping as very brave, low and quick.

We know this doesnt always show on the track though, so we will be just delighted if he jumps round and comes home safe.

Finally! After several disappointing efforts, Koo's Racing Club's southern branch tasted first success with our 3-yo filly Wanchai Whisper, who is currently the only horse trained down south by Peter Hedger.

The jockey, Andrew Heffernan, who rode her previously said "I will win on her next time". And to our delight he was right.

Well done and keep up the good work guys.

Our stable open day, which was held at Brian Ellison's yard on Sunday 4th July was so far the most successful open day yet.

A big thank you goes to all of you who decided to make the journey to Malton. We had people travelling from as far as Doncaster, Leeds and even Newcastle.

And a special thank you goes to all Brian's staff and friends who helped out with the horses on the day and I cannot forget to mention our jockey Dale Swift who came along to answer any questions our members had.

Well done everyone and now lets hope that we can make next open day even better.
Koo's Racing Club's horses are flying!

It was fantastic to see Wanchai Whisper finally show some form and win at Windsor on Sunday for our trainer Peter Hedger.

Never the less Brian Ellison raised the stakes when Dream Win won at Wolverhampton on Monday (on Tuesday we gave our members a short break) and to our delight on Wednesday Film Festival motored past the winning line at Catterick.

3 winners for the Club in 4 days is definitively more than we expected. And I should mention that two of these winners were due to our successful jockey Dale Swift who is in great form right now.
