Having bought Balty Boys late in the season, we only got the chance to race him a few times. He preformed with credit and gave us a lot to look forward now in 2014.
The Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster was considered as a starting point for the season, but a last minute change of heart means we will start the season a little later on as its a long season to race in big handicap after big handicap.
Balty Boys seems especially well suited by making the running therefore do not be surprised if you see him at Chester a few times where he ran very well last season and as he has good form on firm and soft we wont have to worry about the weather forecast whenever he’s due to run.
We were very pleased to see Balty Boys run his heart out and win Class 2 handicap at Nottingham off 94 (although he run off 98 due to being out of weights) and Balty Boys made it even better when he won 1m Class 2 handicap at Newmarket off 97, race worth some £45k!
Balty Boys was a little bit unlucky not to land Group 3 at Haydock, but 2nd place is also nice.
2015 has started very pleasantly with 2nd place in Class 3 handicap and then a lovely win in Class 2 at Newmarket under Richard Hughes.
And Balty Boys went even further by winning betfred.com Superior Mile (Group 3) at Haydock Park under Silvestre de Sousa.
Balty Boys is currently recovering from an injury.
